A new hotel has opened in Lower Manhattan and has been billed as ‘The place to stay and play in New York’
Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown opened its doors this September in Lower Manhattan and added something new to the already impressive downtown skyline.
This 82-story skyscraper is located on Barclay Street near the World Trade Center, -between Tribeca and Wall Street- and affords guests the chance to explore a new look downtown neighborhood, including the Meatpacking District, Soho and Hudson waterfront.
Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown is chic and contemporary and may appeal to the business traveler who prefers to feel immersed in the 24/7 buzz that this diverse city is known for.
The hotel’s modern architectural design is by Robert A.M Stern and draws off many of Manhattan’s glamorous residences.
The venue is also the tallest residential building in the area.
Inside sees design by the Yabu Pushelberg where 189 hotel rooms and suites are individually styled in a neutral palette together with soft tones set against natural light.
Premier Rooms have living areas with leather furnishings, customized Four Seasons beds and luxurious bathrooms with free-standing spa-like tubs.
And whilst guests can chose between room sizes of between 400 to 2400 square feet, balconies are also available in the spacious, higher- floor Gotham Suites with views of the energetic downtown neighborhood.
In-Room tech includes IPads, HD Smart TV’s, charging stations and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel rooms and suites are located on the first 24 floors of the hotel whilst 157 private residences make up the highest levels – with this entrance at Park Place.
Executive Chef at the hotel is Shaun Acosta who is known to deliver dining experiences that are creative. At Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown he uses fresh, local produce from the likes of Union Square’s Green Market and Hudson Valley farms.
Mr Acosta has also developed a unique 24/7 ‘Four Seasons In-Room Dining’ concept where hotel guests can chose from an extensive menu and enjoy ‘restaurant dining on demand’ – but in the comfort and privacy of their hotel rooms.
Otherwise, CUT by Wolfgang Puck serves prime steaks and sides, and has a main dining room for breakfast and lunch for hotel guests, a lounge and a quieter area – which is also for dining.
The Spa at Four Seasons offers treatments using quality beauty brands by the Swiss beauty expert, Dr Burgener as well as facials by Omotovicza of Hungary.
There are seven treatment rooms at this spa with many technologically advanced beauty solutions including manicures, luxury skin care treatments- including green caviar and collagen firming treatments.
The hotel’s 24/7 fitness center has views of the new Oclos, a 75-foot indoor lap pool, steam room and personal trainers to help out guests when needed.
Business amenities incorporate a multi-lingual concierge service, secretarial and translation services and use of computers.
