Businesswomen who visit Dubai could escape the city and enjoy fine dining and beauty treatments at a nearby hotel and luxury spa
And just as this oasis of calm is set on an elegant 160-acre polo estate, it offers a unique experience to people who wish to get away from the busy metropolis or the nearby sand dunes.
Today, businesswomen who may visit Dubai and are looking for a change of pace, can easily relish a little respite here with colleagues at the end of their busy working day.
Nourishing spa treatments can be enjoyed just before they fly home and there’s fine dining alongside views of sprawling green polo fields, exotic palms and pretty pink blossoms during the day and by night.
Afternoon tea can also be taken overlooking lush lawns.
This hotel venue is themed in many ways around the polo sport with staff wearing polo shirts. It’s also set overlooking four idyllic and peaceful polo fields.
For dining the European-type grill, Rare (which reopens later this month after a refurbishment) is the resort’s main restaurant and overlooks the estate’s perfectly manicured polo fields.
As per its name, Rare is predominantly a steakhouse and serves a selection of quality cuts, as well as Wagyu, pheasant and lamb.
Fish is also on the menu together with Lobster, Miso Black Cod and appetizers including tuna and salmon.
And whereas menus here change seasonally, Foie Gras and Lobster Tails -plus an array of seasonings, sauces and sides – can always be added to the steaks.
Otherwise, an alternative dining option at Desert Palm is Epicure which has a delicatessen, a bakery and more of a ‘bistro’ or brasserie type feel with all day dining.
The internationally diverse menu at Epicure includes dishes from New York City, Morocco, the Middle East and India, with healthy salads and sandwiches, nutritious Mezze and wood-fired pizzas.
For lunch or dinner guests could begin their meal with a selection of cold Mezze, followed by a Ribbon Salad which includes smoked duck and vegetable shavings – or they could enjoy an Australian beef tenderloin.
Fresh blend juices are Lemon Mint, Pineapple Colada and Blackberry Lemonade.
If businesswomen decide to venture out of the city to Desert Palm for evening drinks, the Red Bar serves a decent variety of cocktails and infused spirits which can be enjoyed alongside polo memorabilia.
Polo Bar on the other hand is located outside and overlooks the resorts main polo field. This bar also serves gourmet sandwiches and light snacks including a charcuterie platter.
For an earlier afternoon city escape, businesswomen could also enjoy an Al Fresco afternoon tea at Jewel.
Here, classic three-stand cake trays offer scones and sandwiches served against a backdrop of polo fields where matches are played between October and April.
For spa treatments The Lime spa also overlooks the polo fields and is located in the basement at Desert Palm.
This spa offers natural and original body, face and massage treatments as well as manicures and pedicures, a ‘chroma therapy’ shower and an ice room where guests can wind down to cool off.
Treatments can be tailored to suit individual preferences and can include Turkish salt scrubs, head massages, body polishes, Vital C and Caviar facials.
Otherwise individual facials use products by the luxury skincare company, Kirstin Florian which focuses on inner health and outer beauty.
