Tea Time at the Best Hotel in San Francisco

Enjoy afternoon tea in glamorous, peaceful surroundings in a San Francisco hotel

The historic Palace Hotel remains one of best hotels in San Francisco after completing its renovation project.

Part of this came in the form of the beautiful, light-filled GC Lounge which offers a quaint afternoon tea service.

Tea Time in the GC Lounge is said to be slightly more informal than the well-known Saturday Signature Tea service in The Garden Court, which also continues to serve a delicious City Brunch on Sundays.

Palace Hotel chefs have also produced a delicious new menu for the GC Lounge which is locally sourced and changes seasonally.

For businesswomen who are looking to enjoy time at one of the best hotels in San Francisco this new lounge provides a perfect spot for an impromptu business meeting, tea  time or a place to seek refuge alone with a light snack.

Guests don’t need to make a  reservation and they can work in peace and quiet on their laptops at a private table, or connect with others at a communal one.

The GC Lounge also features live music entertainment in the evenings when cocktails are served and can be enjoyed under the moonlit glass dome and glamorous chandeliers.

Over the years this magnificent landmark hotel has become a firm fixture among the global female business set and is known to be a favorite hotel choice in San Francisco.

Its excellent location on the corner of Market Street and New Montgomery provides good access for business and shopping, and the hotel has a full service business center. Additionally, the exceptional concierge service speaks volumes as the charming demeanor and care of each of their elite concierges always transcends to the guests.

In fact, every concierge at the Palace Hotel is a Les Clefs d’Or concierge, with Les Clefs d’Or USA being the only existing national organization of hotel lobby concierges. This is the highest accolade within the hotel industry and indicates excellence in both knowledge and service.

With growing demand for luxury hotels throughout the world, Starwood Hotels & Resorts and The Luxury Collection brand are improving and strengthening their hotel portfolio in the United States.

Billed as ‘impressive renovations’, The Luxury Collection could indeed become the largest and most successful luxury hotel brand in the world as 2015 comes to a close.

The Palace Hotel has been owned by Kyo-ya Hotels and Resorts since the 1970’s.

The overall renovation project at the Palace Hotel has been its first in many years and began in November 2014 and concluded in August 2015.

The renovation has revealed a hotel with historic elements restored to perfection complemented by contemporary design. Wide welcoming hallways create an open and safe guest room approach whilst solid wood doors allow ultimate privacy.

The first phase saw enhancements to the guest rooms, indoor pool and fitness center. Rooms boast original 11 foot ceilings and large windows, new custom furnishings, and gorgeous marble bathrooms with rain showers.

The hotel now has a grand total of 556 rooms, but the historic 1909 details of the hotel were carefully retained.

For hotel guests, the fitness center continues to remain open 24 hours a day, together with the swimming pool (which feels more like an urban retreat). The pool is open from 10 :00 am to 10:00 pm. In-room service is available 24/7.
