Qantas has joined forces with Airbnb to increase loyalty among its Frequent Flyers
Qantas loyalty members will now be rewarded with points whenever they travel on the airline if they book an Airbnb accommodation stay via Qantas.com.
This means that Qantas Frequent Flyers will earn one Qantas point for every dollar that they spend on booking an Airbnb room, apartment or house.
Using their Frequent Flyer member details flyers are taken to Airbnb’s Australian website where they can then make a booking with any Airbnb accommodation in the world.
And with around 2.5 million Arbnb listings to chose from in 191 countries, Qantas Frequent Flyers will have plenty of options.
Qantas CEO Alan Joyce said of the new partnership with Airbnb, ‘The way that people around the world plan, book and experience travel is changing rapidly with the digital revolution.
‘We know many of our customers are just as likely to arrange an Airbnb as they are to book a hotel, and we wanted to recognize and reward them for that.’
And whilst Qantas may be consistently looking for partnerships with tech companies and innovative businesses around the world, the airline company is also known for wanting to foster quality travel experiences for its customers whereby they also feel at home.
Today, Australia’s national airline has 11.4 million Frequent Flyers who can benefit from this partnership which is also the first of a kind in the world.
‘From creating Business class in the 1970s to introducing mobile technology to transform the check-in process in recent years, Qantas has always looked for ways to reinvent airline travel – just like Airbnb has done for accommodation.’ said Alan Joyce
Qantas and Airbnb are also offering Qantas Frequent Flyer members the chance to win what has been billed as ‘the ultimate Qantas and Airbnb experience’.
This opportunity is available for loyalty members who book an Airbnb accommodation via qantas.com by 31st October 2016.
The prize includes four return Business class air tickets on Qantas to San Francisco for the winner and three guests from the winner’s closest Qantas port in Australia; Qantas First Lounge access in Sydney prior to departure; five nights’ Airbnb accommodation in San Francisco using an Airbnb voucher to the value of $5000; $4000 spending money loaded onto a Qantas Cash card; and return transfers from/to San Francisco airport.
